Customers can only purchase up to three pairs of the limited edition gold sneakers within a three-day window.
Initially, MAGA hats, shirts, and flags dominated the scene. But now, gold shoes have taken center stage.
At Sneaker Con in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, ex-President Donald Trump proudly showcased his latest collection of self-branded merchandise. Among the new additions were the Trump Branded Shoes, which complemented the array of Trump apparel that his devoted followers proudly sport.
Available for purchase are the premium footwear options: the luxurious Never Surrender High Top Sneaker in gold priced at $399, the sleek and stylish POTUS 45 in white and gold for $199, and the vibrant T-Red Wave athletic shoe in red also priced at $199.
Trump expressed optimism about the future success of the project, affirming its authenticity as he proudly displayed the gold shoes.
The shoes being sold on the website are a product of a licensing agreement that allows 45 Footwear to use the name, image, and likeness of the former president. The company has clarified on their website that they are not associated with his campaign, and none of the proceeds from the product sales will be directed towards the campaign.
Customers can only purchase up to three pairs of sneakers, and the availability of the shoes is restricted to a three-day period.
The release of the new sneakers faced considerable trolling, including criticism from President Joe Biden’s campaign.
Michael Tyler, the Communications Director for Biden and Harris 2024, remarked that Donald Trump’s appearance to sell counterfeit Off-Whites is as close as he will ever get to Air Force Ones for the remainder of his life.
The company is not only releasing sneakers, but also introducing Trump-branded fragrance products called Victory 47 Cologne and Victory 47 Perfume, each priced at $99.
The Trump campaign remained silent in response to a comment request.
Prior to this, social media users heavily criticized the former president’s attendance at Sneaker Con, prompting the event organizers to disable comments on certain platforms.
They justified their choice to allow Trump to speak at the event by explaining that their goal is to bolster and celebrate sneaker culture through global live events and digital channels. They expressed gratitude for the sneaker community, acknowledging those who raise awareness and engage authentically with sneakers in our community.
Trump’s presence at Sneaker Con was met with strong disapproval, as the audience made their dissent loud and clear. Despite the overwhelming boos, Trump remarked on the intense emotions in the room.
Later on Saturday night, Trump is anticipated to travel to Michigan for another rally where he will deliver a speech.
The former president was instructed by a judge to pay $354 million in his New York civil fraud trial, and the appearances followed the next day.
The ex-president plans to challenge the ruling that prevents him from borrowing money from New York financial institutions for three years, along with a prohibition on him serving as an officer or director of any corporation in the state for the same duration.
