A former US President Donald Trump has mocked his Republican opponent Nikki Haley over the absence of her husband who is in the middle of deployment which prompted a furious response from an Indian-American politician, who claimed that the person who is disrespectful to military families is not fit for being a commander-in-chief.
The husband of Haley’s wife, Haley’s husband, Major Michael Haley, a commissioned officer of the South Carolina National Guard, is currently on a full-time assignment to the 218th Maneuver Enhancement Bridge that provides support to the Horn of Africa. The bridge was activated in June.
The verbal war among two Republican presidential hopefuls started with an Trump rally on the weekend in South Carolina where the 77-year-old former president, who was apparently unaware of his assignment, began asking questions about his whereabouts. “Where’s the husband of her? Oh, he’s away. What did her husband do? Where is the man? He’s gone.” Trump said at his rally in Conway in South Carolina, his first trip to South Carolina this year.
Haley 52, the sole candidate to challenge Trump in the race for Republican nomination Haley, 52, reacted to Trump’s remarks on Saturday.
“Donald I’m asking you to do this if you’ve got some thing to share, do not do it to me behind my back. put yourself on a stage and tell it to my face,”” she said to a crowd of South Carolina.
“I am very proud of Michael’s sacrifice. Everyone in the military knows that it’s an honor to make a sacrifice. I’ve been talking for a long time about the necessity to conduct test for mental competence of politicians who are over 75.” She said.
Trump says he’s going to have to do that, but possibly he could, perhaps but he won’t, she added.
“But If you do not respect the work of a combat veteran, you aren’t worthy of an driver’s license and certainly not to become the president of the United States,” she declared.
“Michael is serving for the US nation, which you don’t know about. Anyone who continues to ignore the sacrifices of families of soldiers should not be the commander-in chief,” Haley said.
Trump’s comments on Haley’s husband has also drawn critique from a variety of sources.
“Only an illness-related person would dismiss a military member who is currently deployed. This disrespects all military families within our nation. This is exactly the kind of chaos that we do not need within America,” said General (rtd) Don Bolduc.
In a rare gesture, Michael Haley fired back at Trump, posting an image on Twitter that reads, “The difference between humans and animals? Animals will never let the dumbest of them to be the leaders,” and mentioning the Trump twitter account within the caption.
In a continuation of his attacks, Trump alleged that Haley is the favorite of globalists and warmongers that want billions, trillions, and trillions in endless conflicts.
“The extremist left Democrats are looking for Nikki Haley because they know that she’s not difficult to beat. It’s easy to beat her. Haley support the idea of a sales tax across the country, and she’s also adamant about eliminating Medicare in addition to Social Security …,” he stated.
In the past, Haley kicked off her “Beast of the Southeast” bus tour by stopping in Newberry.
In a conversation to the press, she complained about the inability of her rivals to maintain endurance and stressing the importance of mental competence tests for politicians above 75 years old.
Her campaign also provided instances of the mental capacity tests that medical professionals use to show that it shouldn’t be an issue for people who want to be the best office in the country.
“(For months) I’ve always stated I have always said that (President) Joe Biden was not the president he was going to be. If you look at what has happened in the last few days, and you’ll know exactly what I’m referring to. We’re dealing with a person whose special counsel has said the memory of their client was compromised, and that they’re weakened,” Haley said “It’s much more than Joe Biden. You could look at the same thing, what if it’s Donald Trump getting me confused with Nancy Pelosi, his temper outbursts, or the actions he’s taken,” Haley said.
In a scathing report in a report, the special US counsel said last week that the President Joe Biden “willfully” mishandled classified documents while he was an individual citizen, however, he found that it was difficult to convict him since Biden appears to be an “elderly man with a bad memory”.
The report by The Special Counsel Robert Hur has prompted an fight in the election year and a renewed debate about Biden’s age.
“It’s the right time for a fresh generational leader. The party that eliminates their 80-year-old president is the one who will be president with no doubt. The Democrats are beginning to realize the fact that they are today. They’ll take action,” she said.
