A Ukrainian couple confronted armed Russian soldiers after they broke into their property.
The US embassy in Kyiv shared the clip of the tense meeting yesterday and it has since gone viral.
The footage shows the three soldiers walking towards the Ukrainian couple ‘s gated driveway before attempting to force entry.
Eventually, the Russian soldiers manage to open the gate and walk into the property with their weapons drawn.
Barking dogs can be heard in the background and then an elderly couple appears to confront the armed men. Shouting is heard before one of the soldiers fires his gun.

A fourth soldier then enters their property as the couple continues to scream, demanding they leave. The soldiers are eventually seen turning around and leaving.
The couple are then seen walking them towards the gate before shutting it behind them.
It is understood this happened in Mykolayiv Oblast, about 80 miles east of Odessa in southern Ukraine.
The US Embassy Kyiv shared the footage alongside the caption: “Today we salute this elderly couple, who stood up to three Russian soldiers.”

The tweet has received more than 7,500 likes since it was shared, together with more than 1,430 retweets.
One person responded “Amazing, well done” and another one said “That is so brave!”.
“I’ve never seen anything like that! Amazing people,” wrote another social media user.
This comes as Ukraine has accused Russian forces of abducting mayor of Melitopol Ivan Federov as they move to a “new stage of terror”.

President Zelensky warned that Putin had moved to the next stage of his attack by kidnapping the mayor of the southeastern city.
Adviser to Ukraine’s interior ministry, Anton Heraschenko, claimed 10 soldiers had sieged Melitopol’s crisis centre on Thursday, March 10, before putting a bag over Mr Federov’s head.

The clip follows the moment a group of masked men lead another man from the building. But Moscow has not yet commented on the abduction claims.
In an address on Friday, March 11, Ukraine’s President Zelensky described his colleague as “a mayor who bravely defends Ukraine and the members of his community”.
It comes as the sound of war continued to rip through Ukraine overnight with Russian troops edging closer to Ukraine’s capital Kyiv.

Earlier today, the UK Government was condemned by French president Emmanuel Macron for f ailing to live up to its “grand statements” on helping Ukrainian refugees.
