Lynn Yamada Davis, a TikTok chef who is famous for her humorous cooking videos, has passed away aged 67 the son of her revealed via social media on Friday. Her son claimed that her last moments were “super serene,” and she was with her family and friends when she passed away.
The daughter of the deceased, Hannah Mariko Shofet, said to The New York Times her mother passed away from cancer of the esophageal tract.
In a post on the social networks, Davis’ son showed pictures of her as a kid and a student at MIT as well as one of her following her graduation with an engineering degree in civil engineering. “She’s super cool,” he said of his mother. Her son showed photos from Davis as a child mother along with his brother, who was a professional soccer player. He declared she was an “proud mother.” They showed photos of their old kitchen as well as pictures of Davis running her eight marathons, according to her son.
A mother to four kids, according to her profile on the MIT Alumni Association in the year 2000, she started creating Cooking with Lynja videos with Tim her youngest child. Growth in followers was slow initially until a 2021-themed video of cooking the bacon egg, cheese and bacon sandwich was a hit on TikTok.

Davis was a fan with close to 30 million followers on various platforms, and she shared outrageous footage about her food and often laughing with her kids. On TikTok the platform where Davis was a part of 17.8 millions followers, she made appearances in videos of her eating around the globe, but she often cooked in her home.
She prepared wagyu burgers in protest of the price of $100 and consumed sandwiches while dipping her feet in a toddler pool, while looking like a grandmother. A different character “Little Lynja” would appear in the videos, often criticizing her or offering cooking tips.
The year 2022 was the time Davis was awarded the Streamy Award, which is a prize that recognizes excellence on the web in video.
She was “internet’s great-grandma,”” the son of hers said at the end of the video on Friday. “She was the most amazing,” he said, saying he was grateful that his viewers could see what a wonderful individual she truly was. “Thank you for all the time you spent with us these past two years. We had so much fun making videos.”
