Isner, who is the second seed is looking to reach his maiden final on grass and entered the semifinal after a hard fought victory over Benjamin Bonzi. Meanwhile, fourth seed Cressy is looking to win his maiden title on grass and defeated Steve Johnson in straight sets in the quarterfinal. - John Isner started the year by facing first round exit at Adelaide Internatinal 2. He also bowed out from the first round at Australian Open after losing in five sets to Maxime Cressy.
- He then reached the semifinal at Dallas Open and lost to compatriot Reilly Opelka in straight sets. It was his best performance on hard courts this season as he failed to go past the second round in the other tournaments.
- He started the clay court season by finishing as runner-up at US Clay Court Championships after losing the final against Reilly Opelka.
- It was his best performance on clay as he faced second round exit at Madrid Open and Italian Open and bowed out from the third round at French Open.
- He started the grass court season straightaway by playing the Wimbledon where he reached the third round and faced straight set defeat to Jannik Sinner.
- At the Hall of Fame Open, he won in straight sets against Peter Gojowczyk in the first round and then defeated fifth seed Benjamin Bonzi 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 to enter the semifinal.

- Meanwhile, Maxime Cressy started the year by finishing as runner-up at Melbourne Open. He also reached the quarterfinal at Syney International.
- He continued his form into the Australian Open by reaching the fourth round, where he faced a four set defeat against Daniil Medvedev.
- Since then, he suffered first round exits at Dallas Open, Delray Beach Open, Indian Wells Masters and Miami Open to finish the hard court season.
- He also started the clay court season with first round defeats at Monte Carlo Masters and Barcelona Open. His best performance before the French Open is second round appearance at Bavarian International.
- He lost to Nikoloz Basilashvili in the first round at French Open.
- He began the Grass court season by bowing out from the first round at Stuttgart Open and Halle Open.
- He however found his feet on the surface and reached the final at Eastbourne International, where he lost to Taylor Fritz in three sets.

Isner vs Cressy Head-to-Head: Both the players will face each other for the second time in their careers. They last met earlier this year at the Australian Open with Cressy winning the match in five sets.
